Stone House Collective

4518 N. OAKLAND AVE.

The North Shore-based interior design firm opened its 4,300-square-foot retail store earlier this year, boasting a curated selection of luxe but laid-back furniture and home decor (think new and vintage artwork, picture frames, lamps and assorted objects). If your bed could use a refresh, Stone House is the only retailer in the state that carries premium bedding brand Parachute. A gorgeous chef’s kitchen shows off the firm’s design prowess.

The Workroom

At this interior design firm with a retail storefront, you’ll find a blend of modern and antique home goods – from vintage paintings, framed prints and heirloom-quality midcentury furniture to thoughtfully curated lighting, and kitchen, bath and bed accessories.

It’s also a great stop for gifts, thanks to its curated assortment of greeting cards, stationery, high-end candles and coffee table books. Check out the selection of Sister Parish luxury wallpaper and Farrow & Ball paint. There are bespoke drapery and upholstery services available for your next home projects, too.

Olson House

4326 N. OAKLAND AVE.

Scandinavian style – and environmental sustainability – are the name of the game at Olson House. The boutique, which also offers interior design services, sells Nordic-inspired home accessories, textiles and furniture, all from brands committed to social and ecological responsibility. One corner of the shop is devoted to the Finnish brand Marimekko, known for its bold prints and colors.

Make a Day of It!

Hankering for sweets? Stop by Indulgence Chocolatiers, which sells locally handcrafted confections. 

Craving Carbs and a glass of wine?  Find fresh baguettes and pastries at North Shore Boulangerie. Scout Wine Merchants has great selection of vino and a knowledgeable staff. 

Shop clothes for all ages. Find special pieces at SHOP, a mother-daughter-owned women’s boutique. For the youngsters, check out BlackBear Children’s Boutique, purveyor of clothes, accessories and toys for babies and toddlers.   

End the day with dinner. Try Cloud Red, a neighborhood favorite for scratch-made food and cocktails.
