IT’S FINALLY SUMMER! Also known as the season of watching dazzling sunrises and sunsets. We’ve put together a list of great spots to watch the sunrise or set from. Find out the time of the sunrise and sunset each day here.

It’s time to pick your Milwaukee favorites for the year!
Sunrise
It’s lucky for us that the sun rises in the east and that Lake Michigan is on the eastern side of Milwaukee. There are plenty of places that are known to be great spots for sunrise watchers but really anywhere along the coast of Lake Michigan is guaranteed to have a spectacular view.

Sheridan Park
Head over to Sheridan Park, about 10 minutes south of downtown Milwaukee, and watch the sun break over the horizon from one of the concrete piers at the park.
South Shore Beach
Lie out on the sand at South Shore Beach, 2900 South Shore Dr., and enjoy witnessing the red and orange sky welcome a new day.
Lighthouse on North and Lakeshore drive
The North Point Light House, 2650 N Wahl Ave., and the beach below it are great places to see a magnificent Milwaukee sunrise over the lake.
Sunset
As lucky as we are to have a lake to watch the sunrise over, finding a place to watch the sunset is a little more challenging since the Milwaukee skyline blocks western facing views. But fret not, we’ve found some key sunset locations.

Kilbourn Park
Kilbourn Park, off of North Ave. in Riverwest, has a great view of downtown and the sunset. Snap a beautiful picture of the skyline illuminated by the sunset.
Lakeshore State Park
Although the sun may be a little obscured at Lakeshore State Park, you can still enjoy the amazing colored sky and its reflection in the water.
From the Water
If you get on the water you will get a clear view of the sun setting over our city. If you don’t own one, there are multiple opportunities to rent.
