Where to Celebrate Record Store Day in Milwaukee

Here’s how to celebrate the special occasion.

MILWAUKEE IS NO STRANGER to Record Store Day, the 16-year-old annual celebration of independent record stores. With exclusively curated “RSD” releases, one-of-a-kind finds and discounted deals on all types of physical media, April 22. is the best music-buying day of the year for collectors and casual fans alike. 

Here’s a list of local record shops gearing up to bring Milwaukee the best deals:

1. Acme Records

2341 S. KINNICKINNIC AVE. 

After scaling back due to the pandemic, Bay View’s Acme Records is back in full swing for this year’s celebration with all-day DJs and a drop of nearly 500 new-to-the-shop premium records. For the first time in years, they will also have a selection of major label RSD titles hitting the bins – keep an eye out for rare punk, grunge, alternative and metal finds.

2. We Buy Records 

904 E. CENTER ST.

Follow the neon sign to Riverwest’s gem of a used record shop. We Buy Records is stocked and ready to drop a wide variety of $3 and $6 LPs in all genres. Plus, they’ve curated a groovy selection of special RSD releases – look out for plenty of jazz, funk, reggae and more.

3. Lilliput Records

1669 N. FARWELL AVE. 

Located in the space once occupied by beloved Lower East Side shop The Exclusive Company, Lilliput Records continues its legacy with their first Record Store Day party. Shoppers can expect live music, a pop-up Nomad Coffee Bar cart, raffles and discounted items including LPs, CDs and DVDs. For an added bonus, show your RSD receipt to Brady Street’s Nomad, Twisted Plants and Bandit MKE for special deals.

4. Bullseye 

1627 E. IRVING PL.

With a diverse collection of new and used vinyl, CDs and tapes, the Lower East Side’s Bullseye will be stocked with a wide selection of discounted LPs and special RSD releases. While you’re there, take a peak in the discount bins for some surprising steals.

5. RushMor Records

2635 S. KINNICKINNIC AVE.

As Milwaukee’s longest-running record store, RushMor will be stocking local RSD releases and other exclusive titles for Record Store Day. Music lovers won’t want to miss the live performance of local band Lack of Reason to celebrate the vinyl release of their album, “You Can’t Fix This.”
