I consider Milwaukee my home. Last night, while I was at work, my home was burglarized, and many of my prized possessions were stolen. If you have any tips or info, please send them to info@bobbyportis.com. Rewards for info leading to recovery or arrests! pic.twitter.com/ORNYHxNC1c

It’s time to pick your Milwaukee favorites for the year!
In a video posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, Portis said that he “considers Milwaukee a home.”
“The love you’ve given me here isn’t something I’ve ever felt before in my NBA career. I’ve always felt like I had to give it right back to you guys,” he said. “I’ve tried to uplift the community and make Milwaukee a better place.”
Portis goes on to say in the video that during his time in Milwaukee he has worked with youth throughout the city and has invited underserved groups to attend Bucks’ games.
“This is the place I consider home, so why not make my home a better place.”
Portis, 29, just began his 10th season in the NBA and fifth with the Bucks. Born in Mississippi and raised in Little Rock, Arkansas, Portis also played for the Chicago Bulls, the New York Knicks and the Washington Wizards before coming to Milwaukee to start the 2020-21 season.
“I know we’ve gotten off to a horrible start to start the season but while I was at my game (on Saturday), I had a home invasion and they took most of my prized possession,” Portis said in the video.
Any person with information pertaining to the break-in is asked to reach out to Portis at info@bobbyportis.com.
“Any info that leads to the return of any of my belongings will be rewarded handsomely,” Portis he said.
Portis also posted about a one-minute video that appears to show two suspects outside his home.
Portis’ business manager, Patrick Frazier, said police are pursuing several leads in the case. He declined to provide any information on specific items belonging to Portis that were stolen.
“This is beyond disappointing, especially with how much Bobby has given back to try to make Milwaukee a better place,” Frazier said. “Whenever there’s been an opportunity to uplift the community, Bobby has always been there to do whatever he can to help.”
Frazier said that Portis has donated semi-trucks worth of food, given out thousands of backpacks with school supplies, spent hours speaking to at-risk groups, paid bills for families in need and supplied tickets to underserved youth groups so they can experience a Bucks home game.
“While oftentimes athletes shy away from the public, Bobby has embraced becoming part of the community and using his platform for good,” he said. “Bobby has shown up for Milwaukee time and time again and I hope the city can return the favor and show up for him now.”
Portis was a key member of the Bucks team that captured the 2021 NBA title, the franchise’s first in 50 years and just its second ever. He has remained an important part of team ever since. The 6-foot-10 forward finished third in voting for the 2023-2024 NBA Sixth Man of the Year.
Portis is renowned for his energy and passion during games that has won over Milwaukee fans in droves since his arrival in the city. Fiserv Forum often echoes as fans chant his name with the same enthusiasm he shows on the court.
The Bucks, who were expected to be among the top teams in the Eastern Conference, have begun the season with losses if five of their first six games. Portis is averaging about 11 points and nearly eight rebounds per game through the first six games, in line with his career averages. The Bucks return to action on Monday night with a rematch against the undefeated Cavaliers in Cleveland.
