Celebrate and honor the lives of loved ones at these local events.

1. Celebrate With Music and Dance at Crossroads Collective

NOV. 1 AT 4 P.M. | IVANHOE PLAZA

Starting at 4 p.m. Ivanhoe Plaza will erupt into a celebration of Día de Los Muertos. Multiple DJs will be present, playing a diverse range of music catering to every taste. Canvas and face painting will also be available at the event for all attendees. Plus, the restaurants and bars around Ivanhoe Plaza will be open for business during this event.

2. Watch Grupo Bella’s Performance at Latino Arts, Inc.

NOV. 1 AT 7 P.M. | LATINO ARTS INC.

Celebrate Día de Los Muertos with a special performance by Grupo Bella, whose music is a mix of mariachi and Mexican pop. Go for the performance or get there early at 5 p.m. for a fish fry dinner from Café El Sol (dinner ticket required to attend). The show starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are available here.

3. Join Mexican Fiesta’s Two-Day Celebration

NOV. 1-2 |  2997 S. 20TH ST.

Mexican Fiesta and the Wisconsin Hispanic Scholarship Foundation are hosting a two-day Día de Los Muertos celebration for the community. Wisconsin’s largest community altar will be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. both days, and community members are invited to bring photos of loved ones to honor their memory. Other activities throughout the weekend include a paint and sip, traditional dance performances, a candlelight vigil and more. See the full lineup here.

4. See Walker’s Point Center for the Arts’ Annual Exhibition

OPENS NOV. 2 | WALKER’S POINT CENTER FOR THE ARTS 

The grand opening of the 32nd annual Día de Los Muertos exhibition is Saturday, Nov. 2 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The exhibition commemorates the local community and the loved ones who have impacted it. The art is a collection of submissions by local artists, showing off the impact and influences that loved ones had over them. More information can be found here. The exhibition runs through Dec. 6. 

5. Watch Performances at Villa Terrace’s Celebration

NOV. 2 FROM 10 A.M.-1 P.M. | VILLA TERRACE DECORATIVE ART MUSEUM

Villa Terrace’s Día de Los Muertos celebration will have traditional dancers, food trucks and more fun for the whole family to learn more about the traditions of Día de Los Muertos. Find tickets and more information here.
