Watch Bald Eagles Search for Food in Prairie du Sac This Weekend

Bald Eagle Watching Days is Jan. 18-19.

It’s cyclical and wondrous. In winter, bald eagles leave the frozen waters of the north (think Canada, northern Wisconsin, etc.) in search of food. One of the spots they like to visit, to roost in trees and feast on fish, is the flowing waters of the Wisconsin River in Prairie du Sac. These activities are celebrated at the annual Bald Eagle Watching Days, Jan. 18-19. To just behold these raptors with their impressive wingspan is its own reward, but family-friendly raptor-related activities round out the day. The viewing hub is the Riverwalk Park Overlook (490 Water St., Prairie du Sac).
