1. Milwaukee Mile
ALL WEEKEND | WISCONSIN STATE FAIR PARK
This weekend is full of IndyCar racing at the Milwaukee Mile. Get the chance to watch world renowned drivers compete on the State Fair Ground’s track for your entertainment. The track is one of the oldest currently operating speedways in the country, having been in operation since 1903. This is an all ages event so, bring the family and get the blood pumping.
2. LuLu’s 25th Anniversary Street Festival
SATURDAY FROM NOON-9 P.M. | LULU CAFÉ AND BAR
Lulu in Bay View celebrates 25 years of operation at a free neighborhood street festival on Saturday. The party starts at noon, with a live broadcast from WMSE’s Boogie Bang, and stretches into the night — with the fifth and final live music act slotted for 8 P.M. Embracing the theme of the day and years of successful sandwich-making, LuLu’s is spinning its classic menu items and specials into street fare to be served along with beer, wine and craft cocktails on party grounds (2261-2265 S. Howell Avenue). This is an all-ages fest.
3. Graceful Warrior
FRIDAY AND SATURDAY AT 7:30 P.M. | SKYLIGHT MUSIC THEATRE
Gary Sinise, actor, humanitarian and father honoring his son, will narrate “Graceful Warrior,” a concert experience performed by a 35-piece orchestra, with members of the Milwaukee Jazz Orchestra, the Lt. Dan Band and Skylight Music Theatre. The show, playing on Friday and Saturday night, will feature the orchestral music of Sinise’s late son, McCanna (Mac), who battled a rare bone cancer for nearly six years. 4. John Suess Art Exhibition
ALL WEEKEND | NEW BERLIN PUBLIC LIBRARY
Witness this local artist and retired Milwaukee librarian’s exhibit at the New Berlin Public Library during its final days. Known for his colorful Wisconsin landscapes and vivid floral works, John Suess draws inspiration from everyday beauty. This collection features 16 of Seuss’ original paintings, with several new pieces debuting and exemplifying his blend of impressionism, tonalism, color field painting and realism. View for free on Thursday, Friday and Saturday during regular library hours.
5. Milwaukee Milkmen vs. Lincoln Saltdogs
THURSDAY AT NOON | FRANKLIN FIELD
The Milkmen will take on the Lincoln Saltdogs in one last Franklin Field matchup, before they head to Fargo for the weekend — and they’re offering $1 beers while supplies last. Grab tickets to the Thursday afternoon game here.
6. Panalure + Denny Rauen
THURSDAY FROM 6-8 P.M. | CHARLES ALLIS ART MUSEUM
Milwaukee is a place for music and a place for art, and this Thursday night show gives us both. Feed your eyes and ears with the sound of eclectic Milwaukee band Panalure and supporting artist Denny Rauen inside the Charles Allis Art Museum, a historic English Tudor mansion with an extensive art collection. 7. Author Q&A and Signing: Megan Murphy

8. Brewers Post-Game Concert: Cole Swindell
FRIDAY AT 6:40 P.M. | AMERICAN FAMILY FIELD
This girl dad and ACM Award-winning artist takes the field after the Brew Crew’s Friday night game against the Texas Rangers to give Milwaukee baseball fans a free concert. Tickets and field passes are available through the MLB website, along with seats at the Saturday and Sunday Milwaukee-Texas matchups.
9. Opening Reception For Tierra Mojada: Scent of My Memories
FRIDAY FROM 5-7:30 P.M. | LATINO ARTS, INC.
Madison artist Rodrigo Carapia’s exhibit “Tierra Mojada: Scent of My Memories” is on view at the Latino Arts Gallery, this Friday through Oct. 9. Carapia is a self-taught artist from Mexico City. His roots in street art transitioned to canvas and paper, after his 2008 move to the U.S., but his message remained. Self-expression and resistance shine through the work of this community advocate and leader. His opening reception is open to the public and free to attend — the Gallery kindly asks for a $1 donation per visitor.
10. Goth Night
FRIDAY AT 6:30 P.M. | CACTUS CLUB
Bay View’s Cactus Club is getting dark during two chapters of Goth Night. Chapter one’s all-ages show is on sale here, featuring post-punk duo Bellhead and others. Chapter two gets down until 2 A.M. with a four-DJ lineup — the second event is 18+.
11. An Idiot’s Guide to Wine

Whether you’re a seasoned connoisseur or an evening sipper, you can skip the class and taste six wine varietals with laughs provided by Merrick Watts, an Australian comedian and the writer of this tasting experience. Seats at An Idiot’s Guide to Wine are $65 per person.
12. YogaSix Summer Send Off

Oak Creek’s YogaSix is celebrating the end of summer with free outdoor yoga classes and local vendors in Lake Vista Park. Community members are invited to three 45-minute sessions: sculpt and flow, slow flow and restore. Reserve spots online.

15. Falcon Flea

You can shop from more than 40 vendors at Riverwest’s Falcon Flea, a Saturday block party happening inside the Falcon Bowl’s dance hall and outside the Clarke Street venue. A DJ will be on-site to fuel attendees through this market, open for six-hours. Enter for free.
16. Gallery Talk, Outdoor Walk and Performance
SUNDAY AT 1 P.M. | MILWAUKEE ART MUSEUM
In celebration of nature and inspired by “Seeking Revelation: German Romantic Print Drawings” (1770-1850), MAM is hosting a gallery talk led by Timothy “Tim” Vargo, a conservation collaborative coordinator with the Natural Resources Foundation of Wisconsin. A guided outdoor walk will follow, along with a performance at the Veterans Park lagoon, where the iconic swan pedal boats will be used as a stage to hold an octet of brass players. This event is free for members and included with museum admission.
