Milwaukee’s vintage scene has been blossoming in the last few years, and it’s getting a moment in the spotlight this May. On Saturday, May 16, ten local shops will join more than 1,100 brick-and-mortar vintage stores nationwide for the second annual Vintage Store Day. The event was founded by three Chicago shop owners and aims to support local brick-and-mortar businesses
“Vintage Store Day has been a grassroots effort to unite vintage stores across the country,” says Emma Lewis, co-founder of Vintage Store Day.

Milwaukee is home to an eclectic blend of vintage stores, including collectives, antique stores and furniture stores. If you’ve never bought secondhand before, Vintage Store Day is a great day to start.
“Having a vintage storefront in Milwaukee is about uniting people through fashion, clothing and community,” says Maggie Solveson, owner of Plume. “Because each piece is as unique as the people who shop with us, you never know who you’ll meet or what you’ll find.”
