Remembering when patio weather (yes, that thing we won’t know about for a long time) meant the terrace, splashy water fountain and portable heaters at Trocadero (1758 N. Water St.). And a Nutella crepe. You have until Jan. 15 to relive the memories (not the patio), as the 16-year-old restaurant is calling it quits in mid-January.
The restaurant had been sold by Lowlands Group (which runs the Cafe Hollander restaurants, among others) to Wild Planet Hospitality Group (which also operates The Brass Alley, The Red Lion Pub and others) in 2014. Wild Planet is expected to announce the replacement concept in February. Meanwhile, if you want your Trocadero fix – and Cempazuchi, for that matter; the nearby Mexican place announced yesterday its plans to close in the coming weeks – you can hit farewell weekend (Jan. 13-15) for brunch items, cocktails and bloody marys.
Man, the Brady Street area is changing.
