Tosa’s Chancery to Close, Reopen as Jose’s Blue Sombrero

The new Jose’s design promises two levels of seating, plus plenty of outdoor seating.

Big news for Tosans! Downtown’s Chancery Restaurant (7615 W. State St.) will close on Jan. 14, 2017, after more than 38 years in that space. Parent company DeRosa Corporation plans to reopen it as Jose’s Blue Sombrero. The space will undergo extensive renovation – from January until June – with plans for two floors of seating (that includes multi-level outdoor seating – on the sidewalk and upstairs).

The attached rendering still must meet approval by the Village of Wauwatosa.

As for the Jose’s menu, it will highlight several regions of Mexico and promises a Wisconsin twist. Like the Jose’s locations in Brookfield, Fox Point and Racine , it will offer table-side guacamole prep, as well as signature cocktails. The space will also occasionally host live mariachi music.
