What makes a good manicure? It’s personal. Some value efficiency; others prefer to be pampered. I tried three local nail salons to compare the experiences, price and quality of the manicure.
Our Readers’ Choice winner, Nail Bar, had the best manicure itself, but it was a quick, nearly spartan process – no chatting, a simple hand massage and sitting by the dryers by yourself afterwards.

It’s time to pick your Milwaukee favorites for the year!
Neroli and LUXE, meanwhile, are much more of an experience.
Neroli offers tea while you wait, an aromatherapy hand massage and nail techs interested in talking with you (if you want!), but the manicure was a bit bubbly on one of my thumbs.
LUXE did a sugar scrub and hand massage, but the whole place smelled strongly of chemicals.
The verdict? Neroli had the best experience, if you want to be pampered. Nail Bar had the best manicure itself.
