This Exciting Pop-Up Combines Greek Cuisine and Craft Beer

This collaborative event offers a taste of what Avli Greek Restaurant will offer when it opens later this summer.

One of the restaurants-to-be that’s been on my mind is Avli, due to open in the old Roots/Wolf Peach space in Brewers Hill (1818 N. Hubbard St.). The owners also operate restaurants, featuring “contemporary” Greek cuisine, in the Chicago area.

Avli hasn’t set an opening date for the Milwaukee restaurant yet, but things are progressing and a pop-up collaboration is happening later this month with Pilot Project Brewing (1128 N. Ninth St.). Pilot Project – a brewery incubator based in Chicago – is new to Milwaukee, having opened the Ninth Street tasting room in 2022.

Nominations are open for the 2024 Unity Awards!

Know an individual or group committed to bridging divides in our community? Nominate them for a Unity Award by Oct. 31.

You can experience both – sample four Greek small plates and beer pairings, available for purchase during the pop-up June 22-24, 5-9 pm. at Pilot Project. The dishes they’ll serve include two Avli signature items – phyllo shrimp and chicken kabobs. You can reserve a spot at the pop-up; walk-ins are also welcome.

The Brewers Hill space that Avli will occupy was most recently the home of the late View MKE.
