Maybe if we keep talking about beer gardens, the weather will get the hint.

On the very latest This Bites, on 88Nine Radio Milwaukee, Tarik Moody and I ignore that strange stuff that fell from the sky this weekend and talk about the return of the traveling beer gardens on May 16. So whatever is happening outside better stop, so we can get this spring show off the ground.

Especially interesting is that this year, the gardens are partnering with Iron Grate BBQ, which will offer smoked meats at the gardens on weekends. That’s in addition to the pretzels and sausages normally for sale.

Tarik and I also discuss the third annual Milwaukee Black Restaurant Week, happening this week (April 15-21). If you haven’t tried restaurants like Irie Zulu, Mr. Perkins or On the Bayou, this is a good starting point.

We finish up the segment with Stone Creek Coffee’s new Downer location to open in May and debut its new Project EAT menu of waffles, house-made yogurt and egg sandwiches.

Listen to “April 13th – Black Restaurant Week, Iron Grate’s Traveling Beer Garden, a new Stone Creek & more” on Spreaker.
