An event that gives area teenagers the platform to create, cook and serve with chefs from restaurants such as The Tandem.

Teens Grow Greens is a local nonprofit that helps area teenagers build life skills through experiential learning. The group is number one the April 20 topic list for This Bites (on 88Nine Radio Milwaukee).

Later this month, this organization holds its “Cooking for a Cause” dinner, where teens create, cook and serve alongside their chef mentors. The dinner is Thursday, May 31 at The Atrium (2107 E. Capitol Dr.). The chefs are from Funky Fresh Spring Rolls, Cloud Red, The Tandem and other local restaurants.

Co-host Tarik Moody and I also talk about a few weekly events and a development in the works in Mequon called Spur 16, which could be the new wave of living communities. It’ll have its places to shop (a public market featuring Purple Door Ice Cream and Anodyne Coffee, among other businesses), eat and exercise.

Listen to “April 20th – Teens Grow Greens, Beers Beans Burrito Brunch, Dessert Affair and Spur 16” on Spreaker.
