This Bites: Apples, Spring Rolls, A Hard Cider Fest and More

Stream our podcast this weekend – but not on an empty stomach!

Hey, it’s a great week! The city has Milwaukee Brewers fever, and there’s a new edition of This Bites, the one and only culinary podcast on 88Nine Radio Milwaukee.

First things first, Tarik Moody and I talk about a couple stories in Milwaukee Magazine’s new October issue. A visit to Colgate, Wisconsin’s Peck & Bushel orchard will give you apple fever. Get there before the end of October and definitely take the time to visit the on-site bakery for cider doughnuts and slab pie. Also in the new issue is a story on TrueMan McGee, the owner of Funky Fresh Spring Rolls. Hear his inspiring story and why you want to try those healthy baked spring rolls.

We also have events ranging from the Milwaukee Cider & Nano Beer Fest on Sunday, Oct. 6, to Let’s Brunch MKE at the Italian Community Center on Saturday, Oct. 20.

Listen to “Oct 5th – Sneak Peek inside MKE Magazine’s October issue & upcoming foodie events” on Spreaker.

Ann Christenson has covered dining for Milwaukee Magazine since 1997. She was raised on a diet of casseroles that started with a pound of ground beef and a can of Campbell's soup. Feel free to share any casserole recipes with her.
