Elegant new Third Coast Provisions (724 N. Milwaukee St.) – the lead dining review in Mil Mag’s March issue – is meeting late winter with some new roll-outs. First off, Third Coast’s downstairs oyster bar, Oak & Oyster, is debuting its own menu. For imbibing, there’s a range of oyster shooters, cocktails, beers and wines by the glass.

They are necessary companions to the food menu, which includes chilled seafood plateaus (small and larger platters), steak tartare, Alaskan king crab bites, big-eye tuna crudo, three kinds of po’ boys (house pastrami, crispy gulf shrimp, fried oyster) and “snacks” ranging from fish tacos to lobster roll siders and fried Twin Rivers smelt ($4-$23; plateaus are $48 and $74). The space is open Mon-Sat from 4 p.m.

Oak & Oyster has two happy hours – one is Mon-Fri, 4-6 p.m. The other is late night on weekends, Fri-Sat 10 p.m.-midnight. Specials include $1 oysters, $3 oyster sliders and $5 weekly featured po’ boy. 

Here’s an extra incentive to hit late-night happy hour – a signature Oak & Oyster creation called the “slutty burger.” They’re offering a special promo to kick off the burger.
