Milwaukee Day, Easter and more!
More popularly known in paperback form, Charles Dickens’ novel Great Expectations comes to Milwaukee in theater form. The Milwaukee Chamber Theatre presents Great Expectations, directed by Molly Rhode, running from Thursday, April 13, to Sunday, April 30, at the Broadway Theatre Center.
Mayan artists from Guatemala take the spotlight this Friday at the Visiones e Historia exhibit, held at the Latino Arts Gallery. Stop by April 14, between 9 a.m and 8 p.m., to view a collection of paintings rich in culture and color. The exhibit will only remain at the Latino Arts Gallery until June 2, so don’t miss out on this “mesmerizing collection of paintings.”

Milwaukee finally has a Scandinavian restaurant, and their grand opening event is Saturday, April 15. Party like a Viking from noon to 8 p.m. with free Icelandic beer, raffles and food specials.
Get a head start on working off that Easter candy – or should we say running off. Milwaukee’s Brew City Half Marathon & 10K is this Saturday, April 15, and it’s not too late to sign up! Last minute registration is open from 7 a.m. – 8 a.m. with the official start of the race at 8:30 a.m.
The topic of politics rarely produces light-hearted feelings, especially recently. But “Laughing Liberally Milwaukee, a monthly progressive political comedy show is looking to change that. Join comedian and progressive talk radio host Matthew Filipowicz, along with some of Milwaukee’s top liberal and progressive comedians at the Comedy Sportz Theater for the next show on Saturday, April 15 at 8 p.m.
Head to Sprecher Brewery at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 15 and enjoy a taste of Belgium. The pack has four Belgian ales including an Enkel, a Dubbel, a Tripel and a Quad.
Hopefully you haven’t forgotten about Easter Sunday this coming weekend. Maybe you’ll be entertaining the whole extended family, or maybe just your own. Either way, check out this year’s Egg Day this Sunday, April 16, starting at 9 a.m. Activities for all ages include an egg hunt, craft projects, face painting, the Bubble Wonders Show and a parade beginning around 2 p.m.
