1. Winter in the Tropics: A Family Fun Fest

Escape Milwaukee’s winter inside Mitchell Park’s Tropical Dome on Friday morning. “Winter in the Tropics” is the first iteration of Family Fun Fests at The Domes, and attendees of all ages can participate in the crafts, games, take-home activities, tropical fruit tasting and more. 2. Buena Cara Record Release Show + Pommer + Versio Curs + Known Moons

The Cactus Club is hosting a night of rad noise with sad boys on Friday evening. Buena Cara, a three piece emo band, will be performing their upcoming album in its entirety, with support from Pommer, Versio Curs and Known Moons. Pay $10 in advance or $15 at the 6 p.m. door.

The Milwaukee Admirals face off against the Chicago Wolves at the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena on Friday evening. The team currently stands second to Grand Rapids in the Central Division, with Chicago at fourth.

The Sam Llanas Band will be performing at Shank Hall on Friday night. Tickets are $25 to see the former member of The Bodeans turned solo artist at his first and only 2024 show.

8. Take it Outside Day – Snowshoes & Sleds

Folks can visit the Urban Ecology Center in Riverside Park on Saturday to learn the winter sport of snowshoeing. This free event includes three activity stations: a snowshoe obstacle course, a guided snowshoe hike and sledding.

Michigan-based bluegrass band Full Cord is performing at Anodyne Coffee Roasting Co. on Saturday evening. The group was recently awarded 2024 WYCE Album of the Year for their record, Cambium. Bluegrass duo Joe Wais and Jordan Kroger will follow.

Riverwest’s Mad Planet is hosting a disco dance party on Saturday night. This 21+ event has a lineup of DJs starting at 9 p.m. Admission is $7 at the door.
11. Kwik Trip Holiday Face-Off

The fourth annual Holiday Face-Off is this weekend, with two days of Wisconsin, UCONN, Alaska and Ferris State hockey. Semifinal play will take place on Saturday, with the championship and third place games happening on Sunday. Get tickets here.
