Summerfest kicks off Thursday at Henry Maier Festival Park on Milwaukee’s lakefront, with a return to an early summer format after a late summer schedule last year due to the ongoing public health concerns tied to the COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic forced the cancelation of Summerfest in 2020. Like last year, Summerfest will be held on nine days over three successive weekends instead of the continuous 11-day run (with a one-day break in recent years) that had become the standard for the festival over the years.
