The Deer District Is Getting a New Frozen Cocktail Bar

Be sure to try the “Cat 5 Hurricane.”

Fat Tuesday, a national frozen cocktail chain started in 1984 in New Orleans, is opening a permanent location in the Deer District this summer. The bar will be in the first floor of GATHER, the event space at 333 W Juneau Ave.

Fat Tuesday serves frozen drinks, like the Electric Lemonade (blue raspberry, lemonade and rum) or the Cat 5 Hurricane (“A tropical tasting free spirit blowing into a party town near you”) or a good old-fashioned piña colada or daiquiri. Drinks can also be customized in different combinations. Plus, they come in whimsical, souvenir cups that customers can reuse for a discount.
