The Best Things to Do in Milwaukee This November

Bucks, blues and birds of prey are just a few of the events to explore this month

1.

Take a Cooking Class

MULTIPLE DATES | MULTIPLE LOCATIONS | $

Looking to boost your culinary skills? Consider a class at the Public Market or Glorioso’s. Options range from knife skills (Glorioso’s, Nov. 15) and building a bar cart (Public Market, Nov. 16), to making lasagna (Glorioso’s, Nov. 4) and hot cinnamon peanut brittle (Public Market, Nov. 10).

Veterans Day Celebration

NOV. 5 | MARCUS PERFORMING ARTS CENTER PLAZA

Milwaukee throws a massive party to honor our veterans. It kicks off with a parade, followed by an all-day festival at the Marcus Performing Arts Center’s plaza with food, drink, vendors and more.

Nominations are open for the 2024 Unity Awards!

Know an individual or group committed to bridging divides in our community? Nominate them for a Unity Award by Oct. 31.

3.

Xtreme Raptor Day

NOV. 5 | THE SCHLITZ AUDOBON NATURE CENTER | $

We’re talking birds here, not dinosaurs. The Schlitz Audubon Nature Center hosts the event with interactive education experiences about these birds of prey. Plus, you can get up close with the center’s 15 raptors.

4.

Winter Farmers Market

STARTS NOV. 12 | THE TABLE

With the colder weather, our local producers take their weekly market indoors to the Legacy Bank building for the season. Veggies, fruit and meat are still available for purchase, but don’t skip the baked goods, soups and jams, too.

Trainfest

NOV. 12-13 | WISCONSIN STATE FAIR PARK | $

Model railroading is what Trainfest is all about. For enthusiasts, or just the curious, the show has hundreds of booths that feature train manufacturers, retailers and activities for kids. For even more train fun, consider one of the workshops or seminars.

Wisconsin Annual Blues Harmonica Festival

NOV. 18 | THE SUBURBAN BOURBON | $

The state’s annual celebration of this soulful instrument is in Muskego. Rocking since 2013, this event aims to spotlight the finest blues harmonica players from Wisconsin. Expect an all-star lineup, and bring your dancing shoes because the venue, The Suburban Bourbon, is rolling out an all-wood dance floor.

7.

Bucks Game

MULTIPLE DATES | FISERV FORUM | $

The season’s just starting to heat up. Head to Fiserv Forum for one of this month’s home games. We expect the Chicago Bulls matchup (Nov. 23) to pack the house.

Holiday Shopping

MULTIPLE DATES | MULTIPLE LOCATIONS

It’s time to start gift shopping, and perhaps the most fun way to get moving is by taking advantage of holiday market season, which is kicking off this month. A few (of many) options include the Holiday Folk Fair International (Nov. 18-20), American Club’s Holiday Market (Nov. 18-20) and German Christmas Market (Nov. 23-27).
