Italian restaurant Osteria del Mondo – which spent 17 years in a ground-level space at the Knickerbocker Hotel (1028 E. Juneau Ave.) before closing in 2011 – is coming back. Yes, fans of chef/founder Marc Bianchini’s vitello (veal) and pappardelle with shrimp should look for its return in spring 2018 – although not in its former location.
The restaurant, now simply called Osteria, will be part of the 330 E. Kilbourn office building “revitalization.” Bianchini and his wife Marta (who own the Milwaukee Street venues Cubanitas and Indulge) will operate the resurrected Osteria. More details to come.
