Sheboygan Pizzeria Receives Neapolitan Stamp of Authenticity

The 1920s-inspired speakeasy recently received certification from the international organization whose goal is to protect true Neapolitan pizza.

Harry’s Prohibition Bistro in Sheboygan (668 S. Pier Dr., 920-451-9100) is the fourth Wisconsin pizzeria to receive certification from the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana, which means it serves authentic Neapolitan-style pizzas. Harry’s is not the only VPN-certified pizzeria in Sheboygan. The other is 15-year-old Il Ritrovo (515 S. Eighth St.).  Harry’s wood-fired oven turns out 12-inch pies that come in 18 varieties. They include Mezza Luna (with house-made mozzarella, fresh basil, mascarpone, sausage and tomato), four seasons (truffle, walnut, marinara, lemon), leek and Italian sausage, and hot sopressata salami ($12-$18). The remaining two VPN-certified Wisconsin restaurants are in Madison — Cafe Porta Alba and Naples 15.
