Walk into the lobby of Saint Kate – The Arts Hotel, and you’ll find the place buzzing. The destination is far more than simply a hotel. The first floor alone is full of things to see and do. Pull up a chair at the Bar and enjoy a signature cocktail or a beer. Visit Proof Pizza and try one of the rotating menu of craft pies. Take an art tour, with guidance from the Saint Kate’s in-house curator Shane McAdams. Listen to Saint Kate Sounds – live music performed seven days a week by the wide windows facing Water Street. Or visit the studio of Saint Kate’s Artist-in-Residence Anwar Floyd-Pruitt, who has decorated his space with his colorful, eye-catching work.

Since opening in 2019, the Saint Kate has become one of Downtown Milwaukee’s buzziest destinations for locals and visitors alike. It boasts over 200 guest rooms, five culinary experiences, a black box theater, multiple gallery and exhibition spaces and more.

This June, the hotel is celebrating five artful years in Milwaukee with a month full of special offers.

“We are in the midst of a month of celebrations to commemorate five artful years in Milwaukee and revel in all of the ways Saint Kate is uniquely special – from art programming to guest rooms, food and drink experiences, music, and more,” says Dana Johnson, the hotel’s general manager. “Every day, locals and visitors alike have the opportunity to participate in our anniversary celebrations. We are truly making sure our guests and all of Milwaukee have the opportunity to celebrate and recognize why Saint Kate is so special to all of us.”

Happy hour at the Bar is extended until 5:55 p.m. Mondays to Fridays, with $5 domestic beer drafts and a special anniversary drink – the Sparkling Cosmo. The bright pink anniversary cocktail will only be available during June – it’s a sweet treat, invigorating and refreshing at the end of the day.

One floor above, at Giggly Champagne Bar, you’ll find a favorite of years past returning – the cotton candy flute. The specialty drink, which hasn’t been available for nearly four years, is coming back for a limited time. Drop a piece of the cotton candy into a glass of Giggly’s champagne and watch it fizz and dissolve.

Proof Pizza’s anniversary special pizza combines chipotle crème fraiche, tajin roasted corn, cotija cheese, roasted garlic, and cilantro to create a delicious dish with a satisfying, spicy kick.

“Our pizza dough is meticulously made in-house to give it great flavor and texture,” says Heskeith Flavien, Marcus Hotels’ executive chef. “Like all of our dishes, we use the very best ingredients for our sandwiches, resulting in a high-quality and delicious lunch offering. My favorite sandwich is the Porchetta Philly – our take on the classic Philadelphia Italian Roast Pork Sandwich, which is a combination of slow marinated pork shoulder, aged provolone cheese, and broccoli rabe on a crusty bread dripping with tasty juices.”

And Saint Kate’s signature restaurant ARIA, is offering baked goat cheese appetizers for $5, with any entrée throughout the month. The baked goat cheese makes for a delicious, shareable app, served with tomato jam and grilled ciabatta bread.

“At Saint Kate, we elevate the culinary arts to an art form,” says Flavien. “No matter if you visit the Bar, ARIA, or Proof Pizza, you’ll be amazed at the creativity and artistry as well as the taste of every dish. What I love about our food and beverage department is how we work together with our clients to customize special event menus for our private dining experiences in The Dark Room or even in a gallery space. That collaboration is what makes Saint Kate so special. We think of our clients as the artists of their events.”

The delicious dining options aren’t the only way Saint Kate is celebrating. Book a special overnight package, and you can enjoy the hotel’s signature amenities. With your stay, you’ll receive a split of champagne in your room along with fresh cotton candy, a ukulele to take home, a candle with Saint Kate’s signature scent, a eraser bar soap set inspired by Andy Warhol and the Pop Art movement, and a piece from Artist-in-Residence Floyd-Pruitt. Consider stopping by Kate’s Curiosities in the front lobby and shop the always-changing lineup of gifts and art.

“Saint Kate is not just a hotel but an immersive arts destination and a cultural hub for Milwaukee,” Johnson says. “Whether you are here on business, a weekend getaway or just stopping in for a drink at the Bar, Saint Kate welcomes and encourages all guests to arouse their imaginations, embrace their curiosity and feed their creativity. Saint Kate is special because of the opportunity we have to blend luxury hospitality with creativity around our dynamic art programming, distinctively designed guest rooms, exceptional food and drink experiences, nightly live music and so much more. There is no other place like Saint Kate.”
