When Barkha Limbu Daily was growing up in Nepal, food was at the center of everything. Neighbors gathered for tea, families visited the fresh market daily, and every dish was cooked from scratch. Now leading the culinary team at Mason Street Grill, Daily brings that same passion for hospitality and dining to The Pfister Hotel’s beloved restaurant.
What do you enjoy most about leading a culinary team?
When guests tell me this has been one of the most memorable experiences that they’ve ever had. Hearing a reaction like that makes everything worth it. What matters most to me is how our guests feel when they walk out the door. We want you to feel taken care of, celebrated and genuinely connected to your experience here, like it was time well spent, and somewhere you can’t wait to return to.
What dishes do you recommend at Mason Street Grill?
If you love seafood, I always encourage guests to start with our Maryland Crab Cake, inspired by the original 1950s recipe. It’s a classic done with care and respect. Our grilled barbecue shrimp is also unforgettable, a beautiful harmony of salt, fat, sugar, acid and heat. Beyond seafood, our beef carpaccio is a guest favorite, featuring delicately sliced beef that’s simple, elegant and full of flavor. Of course, we’re known for our steak. The New York Strip is one I come back to again and again, especially paired with our Delmonico Potatoes and Truffled Creamed Spinach. It’s rich, satisfying and truly indulgent.
