July 19 will be one for the record books. Yes, it’s a beautiful summer Tuesday. Yes, the Republican National Convention is happening right now in Cleveland. But for land’s sake, it’s also opening day for Portillo’s Brookfield – the first location in all of Wisconsin (17685 W. Bluemound Rd., 262-289-3390)! We’re not the only excited ones. Local TV media reported this morning that an impressive line snaked outside the Bluemound Road restaurant.
This 1950s-themed location serves Portillo’s classics including Chicago-style hot dogs, Italian beef, char-grilled burgers, chop salads and chocolate cake. The Wisconsin location is also the first and only to serve the Badger Brat – a Usinger’s sausage topped with stone-ground mustard and sauerkraut. Harley-Davidson and Les Paul memorabilia further localize this restaurant. Hours: Mon-Fri 10:30 a.m.-10:30 p.m.; Fri-Sat 10:30 a.m.-11 p.m.; Sun 10:30 a.m.-10 p.m. Click here for more.
And check out our August issue soon – out to subscribers starting July 27 and on newsstands beginning August 1 – for more coverage of the Brookfield Portillo’s.
