Pomeroy Brings Historic Ambiance and Inventive Drinks to Walker’s Point

Nestled in a building from the 1890s, Pomeroy blends vintage charm with a fresh, inviting atmosphere for cocktails, beer and THC seltzers.

Say you’ve got an hour before a dinner reservation in Walker’s Point. That’s plenty of time to grab a drink somewhere that feels both new and old. Pomeroy (723 S. Second St.), in a circa-1890 building, conveys that nicely.

It’s the newest project from the owner of the Draft & Vessel bars, and if you’ve spent any time in them, particularly the “Streets of Old Milwaukee” general store-inspired Shorewood location, this does feel familiar – perhaps a little warmer and cozier with its repurposed vintage theme.

The cutest booths you’ve ever seen – nooks to enjoy a draft cocktail, wine, beer or THC seltzer – are pocketed in the back of the bar (one striking booth is covered in a wooden “nest”).

Says owner Nathaniel Davauer of the reimagined space: “We wanted to have a slightly different personality [from beer-oriented Draft & Vessel] so we could be free to pivot into new things.”
