Check out our Facebook Live video for a virtual tour of what you missed at the first Newaukee Night Market of 2017.
The official NKE sign, greeting Newaukee Night Market attendees, provided a popular photo op spot.

Despite the threat of rain, the crowds were thick, and the storms melted into a beautiful sunset visible down Wisconsin Ave.

Newaukee Night Market will return on July 12, then again once a month through September. Each of the monthly street fests is on a Wednesday evening, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Vendors set up tents and booths along Wisconsin Ave., selling handmade gifts and food.

Another scene from the end of Wisconsin Ave., which was transformed into a lively block party for the night. It’s hard to believe this street is usually flowing with traffic!

Press Waffles was there, making their signature Belgian Liège waffles for the hungry crowds.

Another food option: kettle corn from T. Best Kettle Corn Co.

The night’s entertainment included a DJ lineup from TRUE Skool and other performances throughout the event.

The Newaukee logo was projected onto the side of the Shops of Grand Avenue (also known as Grand Avenue Mall).

We chatted with the artist behind Handmade MKE, who was selling all kinds of handmade accessories and jewelry.

Despite the rainy weather, the first Night Market of the year was a success, and we can’t wait for next month’s!
