It’s almost time for some party hats. Shorewood home-furnishings shop Olson House (4326 N. Oakland Ave.) is turning 2 years old. To celebrate the shop’s toddler-hood, owner/designer Teresa Olson is throwing one big Scandinavian party on June 29, 4-8 p.m. If you like simple, functional Norse design, Olson’s shop reflects this clean modern style.
As for the party details, besides laying out a spread of drinks and Scandinavian-inspired food, the shop will offer a 25-percent-off sale and raffle prizes from local and Scandinavian designers.
In our October 2016 “Best Of” issue, we named Olson House the Best Home Furnishings Store, giving it props for its charming window displays, inspiration and support of local makers like fiber/ceramic artist Janelle Gramling.
It may be summer, but let’s raise a mug of Swedish glogg in the shop’s honor.
