Our ‘Top Chef’ Dan Jacobs Heads Back to TV This Month

The DanDan co-owner will be competing to qualify for Food Network’s “Tournament of Champions VII.”

Loose lips sink ships in the food competition TV show biz. Chef Dan Jacobs – who almost won “Top Chef: Wisconsin” in 2024 – revealed on social media that he’s coming back to TV. He’ll be on a new competition show to air this weekend, but details are very scarce.

The show is Food Network’s “Tournament of Champions VII,” hosted by Guy Fieri of “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” fame. It features 32 chefs in a bracket-style competition. They’re all heavy-hitters in one way or another: previous TV cooking show competitors, James Beard Award winners, etc.

Last month, the Food Network released details about the new, seventh season, including some of the competing chefs. Jacobs, co-owner of Milwaukee’s DanDan and EsterEv, isn’t on that list because, at this point, he is competing to be one of the qualifiers. That episode airs this Sunday, Feb. 15 at 7 p.m. CST on Food Network.

Let’s give it up for our home boy! Fingers crossed he advances to the show.

It’s time to pick your Milwaukee favorites for the year!
