Indigo Blu, a new pop-up boutique, opens today (with a party, people) at the Iron Horse Hotel (500 W. Florida St.) and will run until June 12. The shop will offer goods from a handful of local makers and purveyors. Included among them are Tasha Rae Designs, a Milwaukee-based blacksmith and jewelry maker; Commonplace, shop featuring simple, yet functional accessories and home goods; AAllen Designs, which offers reclaimed wood, steel, and glass art and decor pieces; and Koux, a maker of restored European spotlights, tripods and light fixtures.
The pop-up shop is organized by Barbara Berg, owner of Boutique B’lou, and Wren Solares, who has coordinated many fashion and retail-related events around town. Solares says Tasha Rae, of the eponymous jewelry line, “will be making jewelry with her blowtorch outside so that guests can see how she makes her incredible jewelry. ”
Tonight’s festivities run from 5-9 p.m.
