New Harper Lee novel, high-end dumpster diving and more!

  • In case you haven’t had enough, more snow is coming our way tonight.
  • Wisconsin’s 2014 gubernatorial candidates raised nearly $50 million in campaign funds between both campaigns. Scott Walker raised more than $30 million and Mary Burke raised $18.8 million, reports the Journal Sentinel.
  • President Obama is expected to announce today new limitations on federal agencies’ use of data from private citizens.
  • “High-end” dumpster diving is a real thing, and Wired has a profile of a “pro” in the field.
  •  Harper Lee, author of To Kill a Mockingbird, will publish her second novel in July, reports the AP.

Claire Hanan worked at the magazine as an editor from 2012-2017. She edited the Culture section and wrote stories about all sorts of topics, including the arts, fashion, politics and more. In 2016, she was a finalist for best profile writing at the City and Regional Magazine Awards for her story "In A Flash." In 2014, she won the the Milwaukee Press gold award for best public service story for editing "Handle With Care," a service package about aging in Milwaukee. Before all this, she attended the University of Missouri's School of Journalism and New York University's Summer Publishing Institute.
