Each year, the Milwaukee Repertory Theater continues the theme of hope displayed in its annual production of Dickens’ A Christmas Carol by raising money to support both local families and a designated charity.

The Rep’s ACC Mpact Tickets (formerly called Tiny Tim) program gives free tickets to families that cannot otherwise afford to see the production, about 1,250 tickets per year.

And through the ACC Families Program, actors collect donations from audiences after every performance, typically raising between $20,000 and $40,000 per season. The Rep partners with a community organization to identify three to eight families that need assistance over the holidays with clothing, wish list items, household items and books.

The rest of the funds collected is given to the partner organization as an unrestricted gift. This year’s donations will benefit COA Youth and Family Centers.
