Menswear Pop-Up Commonplace to Return April 2

This time around, the store will open in Bay View.

When Zach Peterson opened his pop-up store Commonplace in the Third Ward last year, he helped fill what often feels like a large void in the area’s menswear market, especially for those who like their accessories minimal and a little rugged. Peterson stocked backpacks from Topo Designs, Great Bear Wax Co. candles and buttery-smooth leather accessories from the likes of Ashdown Workshop and Winter Session, among other home goods and accessories geared toward men. His temporary lease on a ground-floor space at 143 North Broadway only lasted a couple brief months. That space is now occupied by another menswear shop, Milworks.

But on Wednesday, Peterson announced his second pop-up, this time in Bay View (3074 S. Delaware Ave.). The shop is scheduled to run from April 2 through June and will be open Tuesday through Sunday. “While geared more toward traditional men’s goods, many of the brands and items are designed for use by anyone,” Peterson says. That includes his Cast Bronze Collection made with local designer Ryan Tretow and, appropriately, the other side of the space will house Tasha Rae Jewelry, a collection of uncomplicated, yet lovely jewelry pieces from designer Tasha Rae Tatro. Hours will be 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Tuesday-Friday; 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday; and 12 a.m.-3 p.m. on Sunday.
