August 16: STEEZ
Yes, it’s mid-August, and while it may seem like summer is nearing the end, Jazz in the Park is still going strong. STEEZ will take center stage on Thursday, August 16, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Cathedral Square Park. The Madison-based band will have you energized and on your feet.
This funk and fusion band comprises keyboardist, synthesizist and talk-boxer Matt Williams; guitarist and vocalist Steve Neary; drummer Alex Roberts; bassist Chris Sell; and saxophonist, keyboardist and vocalist Andrzej Benkowski. You may have seen the group on one of their seven sold out boat cruises on the Milwaukee Boat Line.
STEEZ’s self-described musical genre is Creepfunk, “a high energy, danceable variety of funk.” Their music will electrify, move and groove the audience. From Madonna covers to original compositions, STEEZ has all the entities to make a wonderful concert.
The group travels throughout the Midwest at various music festivals and concerts, such as the Summer Set Music and Camping Festival, Electric Forest and more. They released their fourth album, STEREOVISION, in 2013, so check it out before seeing them live. Rumor has it a new studio EP is coming soon, so you won’t want to miss out on seeing STEEZ at Jazz in the Park.
