May 30: Altered Five Blues Band
Kicking off this year’s Jazz in the Park series is Minneapolis blues powerhouse Altered Five Blues Band. This group has been performing and recording music for 17 years, with four albums, regular radio play and several nominations and award wins.
This five-piece band features vocalist Jeff Taylor, guitarist Jeff Schroedl, bassist Mark Solveson, keyboardist Raymond Tevich and drummer Alan Arber. The group formed in 2002 and has been making waves ever since with their inventive arrangements and distinctive sound. Get ready for some of the most gritty, swaggering, blood-pumping blues music ever to make its way to Milwaukee.
Head down to Cathedral Square Park on Thursday, May 30, from 5 to 9 p.m. to catch this legendary Midwestern act that brings traditional blues music to new heights.
