The long-running Brookfield dining venue rolls into summer with even greater emphasis on its beverage program and service.
Jake’s Restaurant (21445 Gumina Rd.), just six months shy of its 60th anniversary, is keeping up with the times.
Co-owner Jake Replogle Jr., who bought the restaurant from his father (for whom the restaurant is named) in 2005, and his wife/business partner Karen have announced some big staffing news. They’ve hired Joshua Wolter as the general manager at Jake’s. Wolter previously held the role of GM at the late c.1880 in Walker’s Point. He subsequently worked as a consultant to restaurants like Meraki, also in Walker’s Point.
Among the changes already in place are new craft cocktails and mocktails. The latter include a grapefruit-sea salt Pal-no-ma and a drink called Gin(less) & Juice, infused with juniper. Wolter has also added to Jake’s list of international wines.
In food menu news, a summer vibe is rocking the new seasonal specials, and they include steak tartare, spicy summer corn soup and lavender strawberry shortcake.
