Introducing Miss Wisconsin USA 2016

Introducing Miss Wisconsin USA 2016

What it’s like to watch a friend be crowned Miss Wisconsin.

The morning after the Miss Wisconsin USA pageant I woke up and stumbled to the mirror, sleepily putting in my contacts. As everything came into focus, I started laughing at the amount of glitter stuck to my face from the night before. My toy poodle Pip joined me at the vanity yawning and stretching as I noticed she too didn’t receive mercy from the glitter attack with her little black sparkly nose.

The Miss Wisconsin USA 2016 competition was held Sept. 13 in Fond Du Lac at the FDL High School Performing Arts Center with 45 total contestants. I attended with my good friend and former Miss Wisconsin USA 2013, Chrissy Zamora, and we had incredible seats. The auditorium was packed, and the amount of crystal and sequins were dazzling. While we were there rooting for everyone, our eye was very much on Kate Redeker, friend and former Miss Teen Wisconsin USA 2013. She wore a beautiful jersey orange/red dress with contrasting turquoise earrings and her hair pulled up in to a high bun.

All the contestants did an incredible job, but we could hardly contain our excitement as Kate Redeker went from top 15 to top 5 to being crowned Miss Wisconsin USA 2016!
