YOGA IS BOTH a great form of exercise and fun a way to meet new people. In and around Milwaukee there are lots of free (or pay-what-you-can / donations-accepted) yoga classes to attend this summer. Check out this lineup of yoga classes that are sure to stretch you out and expand your horizons in MKE.
1. Yoga on the Terrace
SUNDAYS FROM 8:30-9:30 A.M. | VILLA TERRACE DECORATIVE ARTS MUSEUM
The Villa Terrace Decorative Arts Museum hosts free (or suggested donation) yoga classes every Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. this summer extending through the end of September. Participants can enjoy sun soaked serenity at the Terrace with views of the Renaissance Garden and expansive Lake Michigan. Tickets should be reserved online ahead of the class, as the number of participants is limited.

2. Wellness in the Park
SATURDAYS AT 9 A.M. | CATHEDRAL SQUARE PARK
Complimentary yoga is offered at Cathedral Square Park every Saturday this summer promptly at 9 a.m. “Wellness in the Park” is put on by the East Town Association and also features an interval class before the yoga session at 8 a.m. Cathedral Square Park and the yoga instructors from Wisconsin Athletic Club welcome people of all levels to join in on the fun. After, participants can visit the market on site to browse fresh produce, grab a coffee and enjoy baked treats.
3. Milwaukee Recreation Yoga Classes

Milwaukee Recreation has several sessions of free yoga in different parks across Milwaukee this summer. For you’re looking to do yoga in the morning, you can join in on the fun on Tuesdays at Tiefenthaler Park now through Aug. 9 from 10 to 11 a.m. If you are more interested in an evening session, Hawthorn Glen offers yoga classes from 5 to 5:45 p.m. on Tuesdays, through Aug. 9. There are a variety of other options with varying dates, times and locations that can be found through the recreation website.
4. Pasadena Yoga Outdoors
TUESDAYS AT 5:30 P.M. | MCKINLEY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Each Tuesday evening in Tosa, Caitlin Moyer will lead aspiring yogis and beginners alike through a 45–minute flow session at McKinley Elementary school. Anyone interested in the class can plan to meet on the north side of McKinley Elementary School at 5:30 p.m. for a free (or pay-what-you-can) night of yoga fun. There is no need to register in advance, but participants will need to sign a waiver once they are at the class.
5. Fitness on the Plaza Yoga

The Deer District may be home to the Milwaukee Bucks and their loyal fans during basketball season, but for select days this August it will be occupied by a much more calm crowd. YogaSix and the Deer District offer free yoga sessions throughout the summer on Aug. 3, Aug. 17 or Aug. 31 at 7:30 a.m.
6. Lakeside at MAM Yoga
MULTIPLE DATES | MILWAUKEE ART MUSEUM
The Milwaukee Art Museum not only boasts beautiful exhibits, but also serves as a wonderful site for lakeside yoga classes. On select Saturdays this summer, the Art Museum will have yoga classes open to the public from 11 a.m. to noon. The classes will be free and held on the grassy area up against Lake Michigan. The rest of the summer’s yoga classes are on July 30, Aug. 13 and Aug. 20. While you’re there, you can also stop by some of the other free events that are a part of Lakeside at MAM.
