Catch a Free Local Performance Every Night of the Week This Summer

Even when the sun sets, Milwaukee still shines with an abundance of free evening events. Keep your summer schedule humming with this list.

Mondays: Musical Mondays

JULY 7-AUG. 25 AT 6:30 P.M. | LAKE PARK

An outdoor concert might be the best way to start the week. The series at this beloved East Side park pulls national acts playing Americana, blues, R&B and more.

Tuesdays: Chill on the Hill

JUNE 3-AUG. 26 AT 6:30 P.M. | HUMBOLDT PARK

If you need somewhere to chill and hear some great music, this is the hill for you. Each week of this concert series features a different genre, and the Swiss-chalet-style bandshell is only a quick stroll away from food and drink at The Vine Humboldt beer garden.

It’s time to pick your Milwaukee favorites for the year!

Wednesdays: Washington Park Wednesdays

JULY 9-AUG. 27 AT 6 P.M. | WASHINGTON PARK

The city’s iconic art deco bandshell is made for dishing out music, and this series brings a lot of it. Along with acts playing genres like reggae, funk and bluegrass, the family-friendly events include kids’ activities and food trucks.

Wednesdays: Summer of Soul

JULY 2-AUG. 27 AT 5 P.M. | PECK PAVILION, MARCUS PERFORMING ARTS CENTER

This biweekly marketplace, concert showcase and all-around block party is back for a second season. Shop from a wide array of artisans while listening to Black music in its many forms performed by local and national artists, including Grammy-winning singer Bilal.

Thursdays: Jazz in the Park

JUNE 5-SEPT. 25 AT 6 P.M. | CATHEDRAL SQUARE PARK

People flock to this small Downtown park for these biweekly musical nights. Local acts span many musical genres, including rock, pop, R&B and, of course, jazz. Roll out a blanket, bring a picnic and enjoy the good vibes.

Fridays: Starry Nights

Pack a picnic and reserve a table for musical performances under the shimmering stars. There’ll be shows by Milwaukee staples like De La Buena and Chicken Wire Empire, and one night (July 11) will feature a classic car show.
