Flannery’s to Close on Jan. 29

The restaurant has been serving for 25 years.

I can’t remember when I last visited Flannery’s, the bar on Wells (425 E.) near Real Chili, and that’s a shame. Just hours ago, the bar posted its plans to shutter at the end of service on Sunday, Jan. 29. They had been in operation for over 25 years, serving burgers, sandwiches and fish fry, among other things.

In their Facebook post, they thanked longtime staff, customers and others who supported Flannery’s over the years. The post also mentions the reason for the closure: the building’s recent sale to JT Wells Milwaukee LLC, which has plans to convert the space to a second location of the Waukesha gastropub People’s Park.

Before the doors close for good, Flannery’s will host a happy hour thank-you party – open to customers, friends, former staff and suppliers – on Wednesday, Jan. 25, 3-7 p.m. Free appetizers will be served from 4-6 p.m.
