This morning 1-year-old pit bull mix Alabama became a star as she greeted a Fox6 WakeUp news anchor with her friendly eyes. Between early morning yawns and licks to Central Bark’s Kate Hartlund, Alabama sprawled out on Hartlund’s lap with Friends of Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission’s Kimberly Greene beside her. As a dog rescued by MADACC and one of 13,000 homeless animals that enter the facility each year, Hartlund says, “She is probably one of the sweetest dogs I’ve ever met–she’s great with other dogs, great with kids—she’s just perfect.” The interview ended with some coochie coo talk to the dog and a heads up on the event next weekend, the third annual Gallery Night & Yappy Hour, May 5 from 6 to 10 p.m. at Central Bark Menomonee Valley, 333 N. 25th St.
