Eat Your Way Through Washington Heights

Eat Your Way Through Washington Heights

Plus The Bacon Company and a Third Ward music-food fest. All that and more on this week’s This Bites.

It’s never a bad idea to talk bacon on This Bites, my radio segment with Tarik Moody on 88Nine Radio Milwaukee. But this week, we talk about not just any bacon. This is oven-roasted bacon, thick-sliced and served on a roll slathered with special mustard.

The new Milwaukee-based The Bacon Company has been hosting pop-ups at Great Lakes Distillery, and the next one is happening June 17. They’re planning to serve that sandwich and a bacon lobster sandwich as well.

Tarik and I also talk about Saturday’s Eat on Vliet event, where restaurants located on Vliet Street ‒ such as Wy’East Pizza ‒ offer specials and simply a reason to come out and explore the neighborhood.

And later this month is a new food and music event called The Little Gig, to be held outside the Third Ward’s Dandan restaurant. You’ll get the skinny on that, too.
