Empty Bowls, an event supporting Friedens Food Pantries, returns to the Milwaukee School of Engineering’s Kern Center (1245 N. Broadway) from Noon to 3 p.m. on Sunday.
Local artists have donated nearly 1,800 unique, handmade bowls for purchase, and local restaurants are providing soup samples for the event, which is the largest fundraiser for Friedens Food Pantries, a Milwaukee organization that has been helping to feed those in need in the Milwaukee area since 1978.

It’s time to pick your Milwaukee favorites for the year!
The empty bowls available for purchase serve as a reminder of those dealing with food insecurity in the Milwaukee community. Bowls can be purchased in advance until 9 p.m. Saturday online.
All purchases after must be made at the door.
With the involvement and support of signature sponsors, local businesses and a team of volunteers, 100% of the funds raised at this year’s event will go towards supporting food-insecure families in need.
There’s also an opportunity to support Empty Bowls and win prizes through a virtual auction, which opens Friday at 1 p.m. and closes Sunday at 3 p.m., at the conclusion of the event. To participate in the auction, go to: www.32auctions.com/FriedensEmptyBowls2023.
A list of vendors that will provide soup for the event can be found here.
Following the event, all remaining bowls will be available for purchase at Cream City Clay and Outpost Natural Foods through the end of the year.
