Cream City Restoration is Coming Back, Now in the Third Ward

The boutique celebrates art, community and its new location, October 20-21.

Jason and Kelsey McGinnis share a fascination with “all things design, vintage, mid-century and local.” Combining this passion with their desire to support local artists and makers, they opened Cream City Restoration.

The furniture and home décor store focuses on furniture, textiles and small goods, selling products made by local Midwest companies like Milwaukee Candle Company, The Loom House and Cival Collective, to name a few from Milwaukee. It also offers DIY classes and restoration and upholstery services.

Cream City RestorationsThe store closed its previous location earlier this month and began the process of moving into their new space at 201 N. Water St. in the Historic Third Ward and expanding their restoration shop.

It celebrates its grand re-opening in a two-day event coinciding with the Third Ward’s Gallery Night and Day.

The event will feature a DJ, drinks and refreshments and a Gus Modern sidetable giveaway. The works of artists from around the Midwest – representing Chicago, Minneapolis and Milwaukee – will be on display at the reopening, reflecting the company’s enthusiasm for merging art and community.

The event will take place Friday, Oct. 20, 5–9 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 21, 10 a.m.–7 p.m.
