Concerts at This Former Pig Barn Sell Out in Minutes

The intimate shows at the aptly named “Shitty Barn” in Spring Green are super popular – and they go on sale soon.

Don’t let this Spring Green music venue’s name fool you – The Shitty Barn is actually quite nice. The building dates to the 1930s and was once a pig barn before Chris Staples and Martha McCamy bought it in 2008 and transformed it into an intimate, rustic space for live music. (And gave it that unforgettable name.)

It’s time to pick your Milwaukee favorites for the year!

Every year from May to October, the 110-capacity barn hosts about 30 concerts, including national acts like Kevin Morby and Black Pumas. “There’s a homegrown feel to it,” says Michael Lashua, one of nine current co-owners.

“When an artist really digs that feel, there’s an amazing vibe to the show.” If you want a ticket, act fast – the average Shitty Barn Session sold out in 22 minutes last year. The 2024 lineup will be announced on March 22, and tickets go on sale online April 1 at noon.
