Char’d Bar & Grill’s New Happy Hour Emphasizes Vegetables

Lots of choices for plant-based — and omnivorous — diners.

Char’d Bar and Grill, the Third Ward’s new Korean fusion restaurant (222 E. Erie St.), is bumping up its vegetarian offerings during happy hour (Mon-Fri 4:30-6 p.m.). The $3-$5 snacks are all meatless, including white kimchi salad with orange and pickled tomato; grilled perilla avocado with perilla salsa, potato crunch and baguette; and buttercup squash soup with sweet rice balls, pine nuts, fried carrots and baguette.

There are also two entrees on the HH menu – the Super Bowl with black-and-white rice, bean sprouts, pickled radish, zucchini and carrot topped with a sunny-side up egg ($10), and stir-fried glass noodles with zucchini, carrots, onions, mushrooms and sesame oil ($10). 

The deals extend to cocktails, with $4 tap beers, $5 select wines by the glass, and $6 cocktails (including a ginger hot toddy and jujube old fashioned).

Regular hours: L Mon-Fri 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. D Mon-Sat 4:30-10 p.m.; Sun 4:30-9 p.m.
