Central Standard Distillery (320 E Clybourn St.) and Smokey Woods are hosting a Winter Luau on Feb. 25 from 1-5 p.m. to shake the winter blues and jumpstart a springlike mindset. The outdoor event will feature a giant pig roast by Aaron Patin, former owner of Iron Gate BBQ. It will be his first time cooking BBQ for Milwaukee residents since his restaurant closed in November.
VOTE FOR MILWAUKEE’S BEST BEER!
What’s Brew City’s best? We’ve picked 16 of our favorite Milwaukee craft beers for a March Madness-style tournament, but it’s up to you to pick the winner! Will it be bright and hoppy? Dark and malty? A zippy lager? Every one is worthy of the title; who will claim the sudsy crown?
Each $35 ticket will include a full plate of food, including BBQ pulled pork, two homestyle sides and cornbread, as well as one complimentary luau-themed cocktail from Central Standard Distillery. Visitors will also be welcomed with “luau swag” to complete the theme. Central Standard says this is an inaugural event, so fans of the luau can expect to celebrate the near-end of the winter season in years to come.
The proceeds of the event are going to the Milwaukee Police Foundation, a local organization that helps to provide mental health solutions, diversity training and accountability technology to the Milwaukee Police Department to help the team “fulfill their highest potential as community partners to law enforcement.”
Tickets are available on Central Standard’s website.
