Last year, multi-Grammy Award®-winner Carole King gave 65,000 fans a critically acclaimed performance at her British Summer Time Hyde Park concert – her first U.K. concert in 27 years. Performing her entire chart-topping album Tapestry for the first time ever, the historic concert was one that won’t soon be forgotten by attendees.
On July 11, the concert will be shown at approximately 600 U.S. movie theaters in a special one-night cinema event. The film features appearances by a lengthy list of noteworthy celebrities, including Tom Hanks, Elton John, James Taylor and Cynthia Weil, among others.
In addition to her performance of Tapestry, King delights concertgoers with several hits from her partnership with Gerry Goffin and her solo career, such as “The Loco-Motion” and “Take Good Care of My Baby.” Cassidy Janson and the London cast of Beautiful: The Carole King Musical join King on stage for an epic performance of “I Feel the Earth Move.” An interview with King takes cinema attendees beyond her Hyde Park performance and into the mind of a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee.
