Bona Drag’s Open House and Annual Sale Starts July 9

Wear your sneakers and bring your cash.

Tomorrow, Saturday, July 9, Bona Drag, the high-fashion bohemian shopping site based in Bay View, will commence its annual tradition of letting its devotees through an actual – as opposed to digital – door. Once a year the site hosts a  sale at 2433 S Kinnickinnic Ave. from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. Like a New York sample sale (minus overnight camping), lines will form about an hour before the sale starts, says Bona Drag owner Heather Wojner. Last year, she says, plenty of Chicago fashionistas drove north just for the occasion and some mega-brand loyalists even flew in for the chance to nab stylish separates with super-steep discounts.

This year, sale items will be discounted up to 85 perfect off the retail price, and non-sale items will be 20 percent off. If you bring cash, you’ll get an extra five percent off, and there’s no need to worry about stripping down in front of strangers as there will be a handful of fitting rooms. Perhaps more importantly, there will be cocktails.

And now, a few of our favorite items to watch for.
